We Believe…
The Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts, and the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
There is one living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, eternally existing in three distinct persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These are indivisible, with each fully possessing every divine perfection.
God created the human, male and female, in his own image. The man and woman sinned and by sin incurred physical and spiritual death. All humans are born with a sinful nature, and are sinners by choice, and are therefore under just condemnation. We are unable through our own effort to restore ourselves to right relationship with God.
The Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of the human race, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and perfectly represented Father God. Jesus Christ died in our place and for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day, personally appearing to his disciples. In his resurrected body, Jesus ascended into heaven, where he was exalted and enthroned at the Father's right hand, and where he intercedes his for his people.
All who repent, forsake sin, and trust Jesus Christ as Savior are made alive by the Holy Spirit, cleansed of their sins, delivered from condemnation, granted the righteousness of Christ and life abundant and unending. These are gifts of grace provided for entirely by the merits of Christ and his work on the cross.
Those who follow Jesus should be baptized by immersion in water in order to fulfill the command of Christ and to mark our union with him and his body.
The Holy Spirit abides within all believers, setting them apart unto God, guiding, strengthening, and teaching them. The baptism and recurring fullness of the Holy Spirit are discernible experiences of God’s empowering presence available to all believers. All the gifts of the Spirit mentioned in the Scriptures and manifested in the early church are presently available. The proper employment of these gifts is essential to the growth and maturity of the body of Christ, the church.
The church is a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all who are born of the Spirit are members. A local church consists of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized upon a credible profession of faith, and joined together for worship, fellowship, and work. God has entrusted to the church the task of making the good news of Jesus known to the world.
Christians regularly celebrate the Lord’s Supper, also called Communion or the Eucharist, established by Jesus for the commemoration of his death, as an expression of our participation in his death and eternal life, and of our union with his body, the church.
Christians should enjoy God, should live for the glory of God and for the good of others. Our conduct should be blameless before the world. We should be faithful stewards of all we possess. We should seek to realize for ourselves and for others full maturity in Christ.
Jesus will personally and visibly return to the earth. There will be a general resurrection of the dead. Jesus will judge the living and the dead, resulting in eternal life in the presence of God for the believer, and eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord, for the unbeliever.
