We believe Jesus came to serve and calls his followers into service - to the church and in the community alongside others from the church. Below, you'll find several openings to jump in and serve. We consider Sunday mornings a prime opportunity, and we encourage everyone who can to attend one meeting and serve one meeting each Sunday morning. Take a look at the opportunities below and consider how you might follow Jesus into service among the church or in the community.

Service Opportunities

Serving the Church

  • Children’s Ministries

We want to help kids love and obey Jesus. We offer nurseries and classes for infants through middle-schoolers during both meetings on Sunday mornings. If this is your first time visiting Christ's Church, ask the greeter at the door about our check-in procedures and they'll point you in the right direction.

  • Ushers

Our team of ushers serves the church on Sunday mornings by looking for ways to make others feel more comfortable and helping people connect at our Sunday meetings. If that's the kind of thing you like to do, slap on a name badge and join this team.

  • Building Maintenance

We're blessed with a large building and grounds that require some care and upkeep. That's where the handy folks on our Building Maintenance team come in. If you have skills in HVAC, construction, electrical, plumbing, or landscaping, or if you just enjoy working with tools, you could be a big help.

  • A/V Team

Do you enjoy working behind the scenes? Do you have skills in graphics, video or audio or wish you did? Maybe you just like technology. Joining the A/V team is a great opportunity to serve the church both on Sundays and during the week.

  • Worship Team

Our worship team consists of singers, musicians, and sound technicians who love to help people communicate with Jesus through song. They serve on a rotating basis and have weekly practices in addition to Sunday responsibilities. Let us know whether you play, sing, or like to work with sound boards, and we'll talk more about openings on the team.

  • Greeters

Our team of greeters aim to make people feel welcome and cared for on Sunday mornings. If you enjoy meeting new people and helping them find their way around, this team could be a good fit for you. It's also a great way to meet more people if you're new to Christ's Church!

  • Hospitality Team

This team makes sure we have plenty of coffee and tea at our Sunday morning meetings and shops for supplies during the week. The hospitality volunteers work behind the scenes to keep us adequately caffeinated and to help create a welcoming atmosphere on Sundays.

Serving the Community

  • Watered Gardens Rescue Mission

We prepare breakfast for shelter guests on the first Wednesday of every month, prepare dinner on the second Friday of every month, and send volunteers to serve as overnight Resident Assistants.

  • Irving Elementary

We serve as the Bright Futures faith-based partner for Irving Elementary, which allows us to participate in the Lunch Buddies program, volunteer at student reward events, help with classes for parents, find ways to bless the teachers and staff at Irving, and fill some of the practical needs of students.
